ipod nano not syncing, please help!!!!!!

Hi,
i have a 3rd generation ipod nano and it is not wanting to synchronize. I am currently using a pc. when i plug my ipod into my pc instead of making the normal usb 2.0 sound it makes like a error noise sound. if that makes any sense. Then after it makes that sound it never registers in my computer and also it does not charge. The only way i can get it to charge is to plug it into my car charger. please any help will be appreciated.

I would try resetting your ipod first. Hold down menu and the center button until the Apple logo appears.

that doesnt work do you think i should go to the apple store.

Most of the time when Windows shows a USB error, a simple reboot of the PC will fix the issue.
