IDG: Jobs Expected to Give Macworld Keynote

Businessweek's Arik Hesseldahl spoke with VP at IDG World Expo Paul Kent, who assured him that Steve Jobs was expected to speak at Macworld San Francisco's keynote and that a joint announcement was coming soon.
Quote:
"We haven't made the announcement yet. We usually do this in concert with Apple…I have no reason to believe that plans are not moving ahead," for Jobs to speak.
Steve Jobs has traditionally given the Macworld Expo keynote speech during which new products and plans are revealed. The lack of an official announcement has generated some interest and concern about the event. Hesseldahl points out that Jobs absence at a Macworld keynote would be seen "as a bad thing."

A MacWorld w/o Jobs is like a day w/o sunshine. He'll be there. : )

...has generated some interest and concern. What?

Maybe Jobs is sick as it seems to be insinuating itself in the article or he just has a lot of stuff going on and being prepared to be revealed... hopefully

A keynote without Jobs while he's still in charge would be unthinkable.

Add me to the "Finally Get The New Mac Pro" list. It won't be at MacWorld, but add me.

Here's hoping for a Mid-Tower Mac Pro. But I won't hold my breath.

Agree, it should exist.

Finder and Spotlight fixed? After how many Feedback requests I have sent? These two alone are an embarrassment for their bugs and lack of consistency. My only hope is that Snow Leopard will fix what is wrong rather than add something else that does not work properly. </>

This really made me chuckle.... Especially the "Safari feels snappier" line. Man, I needed that.

He's losing his dynamic stage presence. I would be satisfied if he served as a chairman, introducing other Apple employees for various announcements.

How many of you are willing to bet that Steve will not be addressing MacWorld? I mean, put money on it?

That's what I thought.

I went back and read the original article. The jist was:

Apple has not come out and stated the obvious. This must mean the sky is falling.

This kind of "sensationalist journalism" makes me ill.

Steve's keynote high water mark was - hands down - the initial iPhone announcement. He was practically in tears; thanking friends, family... he was uncharacteristically sentimental. Very much felt like he knew it was his last (if not his most important). Was bizarre...

And while I think there are more Stevenotes ahead, none will come close to surpassing that epic iPhone keynote.

New Integrated AppleTV/LCD

My hopes are pinned on that rumored AppleTV/LCD. I'd love an all in one solution. Come on Steve, give me a post Xmas present!

Ok signal the false reports of Steve's poor health while people make a fortune from playing with Apple's stock! Steve will be there, chill people.

And don't create all this unrealistic hype for product releases and then whine afterwards. Just have fun and see what comes.
