More iPhone Nano Case Design Photos

For completeness sake, we should report that XSKN has now posted the entire series of iPhone Nano cases for sale. Again, we have our doubts about the release of an iPhone Nano, yet it's hard to deny that the two previous case designs that were posted on XSKN did accurately predict upcoming products.

As with previous product shots, the actual iPhone graphics shown within the case are simply existing iPhone promotional shots and do not necessarily represent what the iPhone Nano interface would look like.

In the picture with what looks like the "Urbanspoon" application you can see the old 3G icon and not the new one.
EDIT: And the view of the side of the phone you can see the aluminum Mac Silver of the original iPhone (with the black silent ringer switch)

at first i really didn't think the iphone nano was coming, and i still really don't. but with more and more rumors, it just might be released. i'm guessing it will be $99?

i mean, i would like to see this device released. but i think i'd rather see a netbook device that runs iphone apps

That mocked up screen is crap. I'm betting it's a landscape only phone, 'cos then then keyboard would actually work well.

I just don't get the concept behind an "iPhone Nano". The iPod Nano is a smaller iPod because it uses flash drives instead of an hardrive. Considering the iPhone is alredy flash-based, how could they use any smaller storage? Shuffle-class drives? I doubt anyone would be satisfied with a 1/2GB iPhone.
What about the screen? All the apps available out there are made to fit in a 3.5" screen. If they were going to put a smaller one, it would have to be like 220dpi, which would make text and buttons unusably small, not suitable for a touchscreen.
I still don't get it.

it's not like they actually have an iphone nano. the screenshots and switches etc... are all photoshopped in

If they do have prerelease info, all it is is the dimensions of the product in order to make a case.

Me too!
Sooner are later, scammers are going to start selling styluses for the iPhone Nano on eBay.
You buy it, and then realize that the iPhone's touch screen doesn't work with it.

Anyways, I'm kinda surprised that the design looks like a mini iPhone.

Yes, tell me about it - that's why I went from a small HTC Windows Mobile with tiny keys to an iPhone in the first place.

Well, that explains the 4Gig iPhone refurbs for $149 - I think the Nano will be 4Gig for $99 subsidized. It'll go 8 Gigs when the regular iPhone capacities are upgraded.

I would imagine certain apps, like SMS, would have to be modified to work in landscape for the iPhone Nano, and then they would implement "landscape mode" for the regular iPhone as well.

An iPhone nano would be really dumb if it was the same design as the iPhone 3g, just smaller(which is completely unnecessary because the iPhone is already small enough), and I don't see Apple doing that. If ANYTHING..Apple will come out with some crazy small ipod touch, but I don't see that either.

If Apple releases an iphone nano I think it will be one of its biggest mistakes. I don't see the need for it, and think it would be unusable due to its small size. I was looking at my iphone and trying to figure out why anyone would want one any smaller, you couldn't type easily or see much. Also, the price savings I wouldn't imagine being very much, maybe $100. Why would you buy an unnaturally small iphone nano that has to be crippled in other ways too, just to save a $100, it wouldn't be worth it. If these rumors turn out true, Apple might be on the downslide of their recent success. I'm hoping they are not.

Simple: The Japanese market. The current iPhone is too big for it.

If apple rolls out an iphone nano, do you think they would also roll out an ipod touch nano as well in the future??

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

Cases for sale. That makes things interesting now doesn't it. I still have my doubts.

More a touchscreen/hard drive based Classic...

I still don't get it - a "budget" iPhone Nano, but high-priced iPhone 3G Wireless plans?

The iPhone Nano is real, I held one. Only it isn't made by Apple, rather some Chinese bootleggers. I've seen them in the markets here in Shanghai and in Mongkok in HK, when I was purchasing my factory-unlocked 3g iPhone.

What i find funny is all these people who are so opposed to an Iphone Nano. Most of you already have an Iphone, so what does it matter if an Iphone Nano is released? Don't complain about typing on a pinhole keyboard when you already have an Iphone, or have the option of buying one instead of the nano. The point is that you people are angry that something new is coming out and you no longer have the latest Apple phone. To add to that it will be less expensive and more easily accessible to the masses which again makes you upset because now everyone and their mom will have an Apple phone. Apple is in the business of making money, and a smaller less expensive phone will only make them more.

I love it when everybody jumps in on how horrible a design is based on rumors, then 3 weeks later when it actually comes out, all of the sudden its "fantastic"

I guess people are trying to figure out "what the point" is - why not just drop the price of the current one? Why a whole other eco-structure of cases, app compatibility, etc?

As I've been saying, if this is only going to help AT&T more (rather then sell it unlocked, and compatible with many different networks), why not spend the extra $100 (or even $49 with a price drop) if you're already spending $100/month on your cellular bill?

and how in the world can anyone expect to type on such a small device? .. I call it fake, I get this feeling apple is getting smarter and leaking out fake information.

The "nano" version could be dropping things like GPS, storage space etc.. each allowing for smaller designs. Remember, this would be an iPhone lite with less features... this could even be an Edge device...

As far as the typing area, the screen looks like it would be only about 10% smaller so the touch area would only decrease a few pixels. there may also be some advancements in the touch technology making the screen more sensitive.
Think tech forward... dont get locked in the status quo...

I'm hoping Apple & AT&T are going to suprise us - optional data plan, and $49 with a contact...
