Not quite sure your link is supposed to lead to

But it just leads to Apple's iPhone page, which in no way confirms(or denies) iPhone nano

OP, I do not understand why the other posters cannot grasp what you are trying to say.
I get what you mean.
Whois says that the domain 'iphonenano.com' is registered to some russian man from moscow, not Apple.

It happens regularly - people chancing their arm and registering domain names for possible future products/companies.
Like when 'merger' of BoA and Merrill Lynch was announced people had already bought several possible domains in the hope that the bank would buy them at an inflated price.

see: http://news.domainmonster.com/cybersquatters-register-bank-domain-names/

Hope that answers your question.

No, that really does redirect straight to apple.com. I'll bet that apple just trademarked iphonenano.com a long, long time ago to cover all their bases. Didn't they buy iphone.com in the late 90s/early 00s?

Yes Apple registered it in 1995! Amazing!

I'm telling you, man! MacWorld 2009! Phil Schiller walks on stage with a leash and an animal under a black cloak. He pulls the cloak off to reveal a unibody aluminum ibex with glossy black hooves, glass horns, and a MagSafe nose.

I'm not buying one until it's an iBex Nano.

@OP: It's an interesting find, but I don't think that it proves anything. As others have said, it's most likely Apple covering all bases and making sure they have the rights to the name. Just in case ;), but who knows.

The mammals.org thing is really weird. Why would that ever redirect to Apple.com?

Let's put this to rest.

It isn't even owned by Apple. Someone else owns it, and links it to the Apple website. It was also created over 2 years ago.
