iPod touch Unable to connect to network

ok well i have a ipod touch 2.2 i think, and i entered all of my wifi info and i get the little wifi sign on the top menu bar but whenever i try to connect to any of my apps it wont let me online 🙁 anyone have a clue on how to get this to work?
 
A number of things could be bad. If Wifi is too weak, you might seem to connect, but there's no actual bandwidth (has happened to me). A less likely case is that your wifi chip is bad, or the router/gateway you're trying to connect to is bad.
 
i dont think the router/modem is bad because i just got them not too long ago and i dont really mess with them too much.
