Does anybody know of any App's on the Mac for creating Fractals, besides Kai's plugin for photoshop? Thanks.

You can do much more than fractals, but if it's fractals you want, it's fractals you get.

U&I Software's ArtMatic

Do yourself a favor and download the demo. I've used it for the past couple of years...it's freakin' fantastic for so many different things including video, stills and filtering.

Best,

When I was doing Maths at University, I got interested in fractals. After some time, I used a program called "Mandella" in OS 7 - and after a quick search online, I've found it to be updated...

Find it, and OTHER fractal programs, here.

Have fun!

CmdrLaForge,

I think you're asking about the duration of the demo period, I believe it's just a save-disabled demo. I don't seem to remember it only running for a particular amount of time.

I paid for my license long ago...

Best,
Logicat

PS - MongoTheGeek, awesome. Thanks for posting postscript patterns. Did you write these or reference them from somewhere else? If so, please pass a URL or reference name. Thanks.

MongoTheGeek...these were neat....just curious what is the purpose of these? Are they the basis for some fractals? Thanks for sharing.

ne of them was Koch's Snowflake one of the "classic" fractals. The other I made to look like a heart (at least at iteration 1 the end result was much different)

I created them when I was working on writing postscript for practical uses and was getting frustrated with it not working right so I made them as toys.

I wrote them. I had one that did much the same thing but much smaller. I made it into modular code so all you have to do is play with the params at the top.

Here's a new one, and it's free, for OS X

Here's a free cocoa application that just posted and maps the Mandelbrot set:
