dance with me!

Please join me in a rain dance for the western US, especially Colorado. We are in our worst drought in 100 years and there are numerous wildfires burning within the state. The largest one has burned over 75000 acres and is burning just south of where we are. Forcasts aren't good, dry all week with winds picking up tomorrow. We might have to evacuate soon.

So, let's dance!

Yes.

We're about 7" short here in SD, too.

Dammit, I hope there aren't forest fires when I go on my camping trip...

So it seems.... I love rain! When it's raining hard, i like to go out for a walk, wearing just jeans and a t-shirt (and socks, shoes and underpants, obviously ). Great fun

I live in Tucson, Az. Over memorial day there was a nasty wildfire on Mt. Lemon. I dont think it has rained here for 3-4 months. I would LOVE to see some rain. So yes I will join you in your rain dance.
Damn you La Nina!

Yep, we are about 4 inches short here. It seems the whole country is not doing very well this year. Could be a sign that we need to move to electric vehicles?

Why would we need to move to elecrtic vehicles? Pollution? Dont get me wrong I would love to see electric cars. But i dont think there is any correlation between pollution and amount the amount of rain.

Well there is a direct correlation between weather paterns and worldwide polution. We know that our output does have an effect on the planet. That we do know.

Maybe you and I should visit the reservations and see if any of them want to help out with the rain dance...

Actually we are comming off the end of the Plistocene Epoch ( sorry if I spelled that wrong) Which had many "ice ages" in it. There is no real evidence to support that the warming has stoped or that the Plistocene is even over yet. Weather patterns fluctuate with many variables including temperature. Contrany to popular opinion ther are bigger forces out there other than our effect on the environment. Im not saying that we dont have any effect just that I dont think that you can blame no rain on a single factor.

Like I said before if you want a scapegoat La Nina is a better candidate.

Ah, but DC isn't on fire.
At this point I can see some of the smoke rising up from the forest a few miles west of my house. I guess this blows the camping trip I had planned.

Wow, no DC isn't on fire, that really sucks. I hope something happens soon. Global warming is more like global change, you never really know what's going to happen. I'd hate to so much change that in 50 years nothing will be like it is today....we probably won't be that lucky.
