Hi, I set my mind to clean reinstall os x near future, and I need to ask

few questions before I mak my final decision!

I've been using mba for quite sometime and have all the itunes purchased

musics, movies, rented movies podcasts iphone files etc.

Is there better way to back up all these files rather just copy whole computer

with time machine?

If not, I will be getting a external hard drive that will serve as back up

hd for Time Machine just in case. Any recommendation for hd? it doesn't

have to be big just small size , no ac adapter !

Also, I want my iphone to work as same way it was after reinstall of os.

Thank you so much !! :D

Use Time Machine, as it likely will give you the least hassle. As for the external HD: When traveling for several weeks, I use my 2,5" 160GB WD drive for Time Machine.
If you restore with Time Machine, your iTunes folder where the backups of your iPhone are saved, will also be restored.

I'm backing up with Time Machine via my external hard drive at least once a week. And recently I've had to erase and reinstall my Mac OS 10.5.6 MacBook Air TWICE, but it was much easier uploading my data from my backup files; (AppleCare was helpful, in determining which files were corrupted, then I just deleted those files from my backup)...
