Hey all,

I have a really quick question I was hoping someone could answer for me, I have a small HD camcorder that outputs files 1280x720 at 29.97fps in h.264 (.MOV AAC Stereo 48.000kHZ) format. Now I would like to take the clips and edit them but I know that they have to be in an editable format, so my question is using either the export in Quicktime Pro, Visualhub or even some import method in FCP/FCE what would be the best format to convert to?

Appreciate the help.

It won't let me use any effects on the footage at all, I thought that since the h.264 (container I think it's refereed to as) was not FCP/FCE edit friendly. I converted some to standard mp4 using quicktime (and screwing with the settings) then editing that to see if I can use the effects. Thanks for your quick reply btw....

And Happy New Year All!!!!!

As long as it's a .mov file it is an editable format in FCP/FCE. You shouldn't have any problems.

Happy New Year!
