Probably not. I expect it has to do with the iPod Mini's release down there. They're expecting demand similar to that in the U.S. and are just trying to clear out non-minis while they still can.

The 27th is a Saturday. Apple does not seem to release new/updated systems on the weekend. Possibly the iPod mini like someone else suggested.

Gee, if I could get this deal in the US, I would be ordering a new Powerbook right now.

My powerbook is adequate, but I am constantly running into its limitations, which do get annoying sometimes.

My iPod is adequate - it's a 10GB with scroll wheel. I actually wouldn't mind a current model iPod with some of the new features (on the fly playlist for instance), but I can't justify replacing a working iPod. Maybe when its battery dies, I'll replace it instead of getting a new battery. (For those who are curious, it's almost 19 months old and the battery still seems fine to me.)

Off topic, but I see that we're FINALLY getting an official Apple online store. We'll be able to custom-build our Macs at last!

Back on topic, NZ$100 ~ US$70.
