TV connection for PB
is there any hardware device that would allow one to watch tv on a pb?

Elgato http://www.elgato.com/ has hardware to do this.

Or you could check out Formac, http://www.formac.com as their stuff is similar. I guess it comes down to the interface and software. Elgato has more for digital TV, so it depends on your needs. Formac and Elgato standard Firewire devices are $299 and $349, respectively.

Hauppauge also has some http://www.eskapelabs.com/products.html
Although you will get better quality video if you get one that using firewire.
