I just want to say ALREADY!!! I have barely even used the sucker!
Apple quality control seriously leaves much to be desired. After replacing my lcd four times under warranty because of dead pixels and light leakage with my current and final lcd display having just developed these odd white spots on the left side, a logic board replacement when my 8600gt card died under warranty, now my superdrive. Im sorry but this is seriously pissing me off.
Rant over so now my new problem.
I am trying to burn and image file to DVD and the drive will attempt to spool several times then ejects. The same dvd burns fine on my wifes macbook so the dvd is not the issue. So it will not load burnable dvd's whatsoever. The drive will still read cd's and will accept and read my MacOS install dvd no problem. I did a Hardware Test and all came up OK.
After the Hardware Test I rebooted and tried the drive again where it finally mounted a burnable disk. I ran toast again and this is where I encountered errors.
Is this the sign that my Superdrive is toast?
My specs in my sig.
