Macbook White Graphics Card

This one is bugging me... If the new Macbook White has the same graphics card as the unibody Macbooks (NVidia 9400M), then why can it only drive a 1920x1200 display and not 2560x1600 like the unibody models? Does it have to do with a miniDVI versus miniDisplayport output?
