i want to connect to a vizio and a old dell desktop monitor. The vizio has the same connect cable as the monitor. Any help will be appreciated, it is an old macbook not the new one

It depends on how old the Dell monitor is. I'm assuming you'd need the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and then a VGA cable to go from the adapter to the tv/monitor, but there is no way to be certain with the information you gave me.

You likely already have the adapter if you have the original box that the computer came in. Then you'd just need to get the connecting cable.
