how to burn video on dvd?

How would I burn a movie on a dvd so that when I put the dvd in a dvd player the movie plays automatically?

You need to convert it to .VOB format. It never works for me though.

Burn it on to the DVD disc. I think you can use iDVD to do that, not 100% sure

I tried everything on iDVD it always forces me to make a menu

Try using Burn..It's free.

burn works pretty good. you just select video tab. then in the dropdown box choose dvd. drop the avi file in the box. choose burn. choose ntsc. it will convert it to mpeg then it will make the dir structure automagically and start the burn.

some dvd and blue ray players are finicky in terms of if you use dvd+r or dvd-r disks. i think dvd-r is more widely accepted.
