I am trying to install a new 250gb PATA HD into my iBook g4. I am going to use carbon copy cloner to copy my entire drive. The problem is, when I plug my new drive in (via usb enclosure) it says its not readable (this is brand new out of the package 5 mins ago).

So do I need to do any formating before i use carbon copy cloner? Or maybe set something phsyically onto the drive? (slave mode etc?)

Thanks.

DO YOU MEAN CARBON COPY CLONER?
Sorry caps were on, I've used it before & it works well.

I went into disc utility and erased the new drive, then it showed up and now i just cloned my entire drive.

The only thing I want to make sure is that once you do a basic clone in carbon copy cloner from my Macintosh HD to the new harddrive, is it all ready to be bootable and installed? Thanks.
