Tallahassee, Florida Needs An Apple Store!

Here is why I think that Tallahssee, Florida needs an Apple Store.

#1 - It would serve Southwestern Georgia, Northern Florida, The Florida Panhandle, and Southeastern Alabama. This includes such cities as Panama City, Valdosta, Albany, Tallahassee, Dothan, Gainsville, and other such cities. Yeah, I know, these aren't really HUGE cities and some you have probably never heard of if you don't live in this area but they add up.

#2 - The ONLY place in Tallahassee or near Tallahassee that sells Macs is CompUSA. And I think that alone is self-explanatory.

#3 - Tons of people flow through Tallahassee. There are two pretty large Universities in Tallahassee, Florida State University and FAMU. Both attract lots of people to this area during football season.

I think that if Apple was to open a store in Tallahassee, even if a small store, it would be awesome and I think it would draw a good bit of attention if placed in the right spot. I live just across the state line in Georgia and I go to Tallahassee all the time. I currently own a Mac, which I got from CompUSA, and I have to say CompUSA SUCKS. Alot of my friends and family are interted in owning a Mac. My mom's next computer purchase will be a Mac.

It kinda sucks that just about all the Apple Stores around here are either in Northern Georgia or Southern Florida. That's just a little too far to drive. Does anyone know if there are any plans to open an Apple Store in Tallahassee or to any city nearby to Tallahassee?

you make some excellent points...However, I think those points could be made for any number of locations across the country. It would be great if there were Apple Stores everywhere, but it would be a shame if Apple expanded too fast and the Apple Stores went the way of the Gateway Country stores.

While it would seem to be a good location, they still have to open a store in Jacksonville and they'll probably put a store in southwest Floriduh after that, simply because there is quite a lot of money.

If you haven't noticed, it depends mostly on mall opportunities. If there is an expensive mall going up in a certain area, they'll add a store. You could probably check to see if Tiffany's, Macy's, or Bloomingdale's is opening a store in the area and then, there would be hope for an Apple store.

I expect that when the new mall goes in on the east side of town, we'll see an apple store in it. The sad thing is that it is still 5 or 6 years away.

Nothing happens quickly in Tallahassle, does it? Even greed takes time there.

Ahem......it's GAINESVILLE and don't you forget it! ha ha ha. (We Gators take pride in our little town).

And no, why would anyone want to put an Apple Store in Tallahasee? That's where FSU is and FSU stinks.

GO GATORS!

Yeah, I haven't been there yet, but I heard the one in Jax is pretty nice. And unless you get really far South, Georgia's got Atlanta...

But I guess Tallahassee makes some sense. Again, not particularly more sense than a lot of other places, but....

Ahem, forget opening an Apple store. I want an H&M within 100 miles. Right this freaking second.

Reason's that Erie, PA needs an Apple Store.

1.) So I don't have to go to Buffalo.

Well, it is kinda lame that there isn't an official Apple Store here in Tally, but the FSU on-campus computer store generally has most anything an Apple store does, including Apple Certified Technicians on hand, so it suffices pretty well. They don't keep a large stock of stuff, but they generally have at least one of whatever you'd need at any given time. I'm not sure if non-students can shop there, but I don't see any reason why not...

I stopped in Tallahassle for the first time today and even went to the Tallahassle Mall. There wasn't much there. Dillards and Goody's are the anchors and that's not going to convince Apple.

Does everyone drive hundreds of miles to shop at Macy's and such stores?

I think there's a Macy's in the other mall, haven't been there in awhile to be sure though... Tallahassee Mall does indeed suck hairy digleberries, it's more of the hangout mall for the stoners who have nothing else to do. Governor's Square mall is pretty nice if you like malls, it's not huge but there's a reasonably good selection of stores.

But, bousozoku's right, there's not a huge amount of upper-scale commerce to attract Apple to open a full-scale store here.

And who lives in a stinky Swamp? Gainesville...when on I-75, go north until you smell it and east until you step in it.

See this is why I HATE living in Florida. You have the Gator fans, FSU Fans, and then the occasional 'dawg' fan. American Football is probably the most waste of time sport in the world. Why dont you guys move on to something more politically correct sport, like FOOTBALL!!!

But actually I have to say, I like gainsville a hella lot more than tallesahsehsjkasaa (florida and its city names ).

I know it won't happen because of the stupid hurricane, but I can dream, can't I?
