The mainstream news media are hardly "independent" any more, and we have lots of evidence of the political leanings of media moguls bleeding over into their media companies' approach to news.

So I don't see direct press releases by the White House being any more slanted than Fox News or MSNBC.

When were you complaining when Fox News was propagating misinformation for the GOP the past decade?

There is no truth, only facts.
Yes, there are still many who's minds have been poisoned by "infotainment" whether though weak analytical skills, laziness, or, in the case of, say, a Glen Beck lover or Hannity whore, complete insanity.... but more and more American's are beginning to see through the bad reporting and use the brains god gave them.
