3rd Gen 15gig.
loved that thing and the red backlight on it. miss it, but my library quickly outgrew its capacity.

3rd gen but it has been so long that I forget the size. I think it was 30Gb but i could be wrong

Me, too! It's now in the grubby little hands of my 2-year old. That little iPod was a great intro, because I've purchased 4 more since...
what did you do with it? drop it into the river? mine still got ~10h playback time
Started with 3rd gen, then had 4th and 5th now touch and phone 😉
My dad's had most of my hand-me-downs but i think the 3rd and 4th are dead now (a lot of hard use)

My first iPod was a fifth generation black 60GB in 2005. I got this before they replaced the 60GB with the 80GB.
