Hi, I want to change the HDD's of my 08 early MacBook Pro. (WD5000BEVT)
Should I clone the HDD to the HDD first? Or boot with the reinstall disc after installing a new HDD?

Which method is better? And can any one tell me how to clone a HDD?:p

You can do either. Plenty of threads on this topic.

Clone by putting your new drive in an enclosure and using Disk Utility or SuperDuper or Carbon Clone Copier. All very easy to use.

Alternatively, install the drive, put in your Leopard install disk and choose restore from Time Machine backup. That will put your last backup on the disk. I prefer the former method as your Mac will start up as before but with a brand new HDD.

Carbon Clone the drive to the external and then swap. The software is free, unlike super duper (I think it costs money?).
Also if possible, make sure you have an up to date time machine. After the swap you will be as good as new, just with more hard drive space.

Nice drive choice, thinking of getting myself one.
