PowerBook G4 vs. PC
Ok so I have gotten into the habit of converting videos using Wondershare for mac, and videora for PC. I rip my dvds and convert them to .mp4
They usually take upwards of 4 hours. This is very long, and I was wondering which computer would get better time. Here on the specs on all 3: -HP laptop -1.6 ghz dual core (533 mhz FSB, 2 MB L2 cache) -Vista Ultimate -1.5 GB RAM -Intel GMA 945 -PC built 10 years ago by me -2.0 ghz P4 (400 mhz FSB, 512 KB L2 cache) -ATI radeon X1300 -XP -2.0 GB RAM -PowerBook G4 12" -1.33 GHZ G4 -1.25 GB RAM -GeForce 5200 PC=videora Mac=wondershare If anyone has a better program for mac let me know

I'm guessing the HP laptop will be fastest (if Videora can take advantage of multiple processors). The P4 desktop would probably come in second and the PowerBook would be slowest.
I've done comparisons between my quad-core PC, 7 year old AthalonXP PC, and my 12" PowerBook using a Tivo recording (SD) and ffmpeg. With my settings the quad-core processes 30fps, AthalonXP PC does 10fps, and PowerBook does 7fps. Handbrake is a pretty good option for converting backed up DVDs to mp4 video files. Plus its free

Does anybody know if Videora can use 2 cores to increase the speed of the conversion?
