combo drive reading a dvd-rw?

I recorded a dvd-rw on an imac thinking i could read it with my combo drive ibook. no salt. anyone can confirm this? i no longer have access to the imac and need to read this disc. the dvd-r's i recorded are read fine...

any light?

apple should fix that. a dvd rom should be able to read anything a dvdr or dvdrw writes to a disk. it is the same technology only the combo can't write dvd.
