Is it just me, or is http://worldofapple.com/ down? I'm getting a page load error. Did Cupertino send their nukes?
I can't wait for this to come out. I haven't been excited about a dot release, well, really....ever. I actually use stacks in the dock, so being able to drill down will be cool.

I've yet to be very excited about a new OS release, but Snow Leopard is shaping up well. It's too bad the name just strikes me as stupid on its face.

I just watched the Stacks video, when the site eventually loaded.
I like how you can skim through folders, but I mean, it looks pretty tedious to go back; having to move the cursor up to the top left and then depending on how big the stack is, your cursor is miles away from it.
Wouldn't it be better to have the previous folder stack go to the bottom right, that way when you click it, your cursor is already on the stack...

looks like a lot of progress, I am really interested in the "put away" feature... With the thousands of songs on my itunes sometimes i place wrong songs in the trash and it would be MUCH easier to have a simple button to click to put it exactly where it was...

Application Sizes
Any thoughts on the decrease of app sizes? Most of the size currently comes from the resources that come along with the app instead of the binary itself (nibs, localization, images)
Did they reorganize this to reduce duplication of files or change the format of bigger files... or just not include localizations you don't need?

Well, it sounds better than "Leopard, Second Edition", although it's not going to be much more than just that: An optimized, second edition of Leopard.
The name can also make sense if Apple is planning on releasing Snow Leopard for regular PCs; it capitalizes on the already established product name and indicates a close relationship.
The Energy Saver icon is now an energy-saving bulb instead of a regular one.

Just a guess here but maybe the Carbon versions of some of the apps are inherently larger than their Cocoa counterparts.
