Colossal slowdown for sites with brightcove video (wired.com, nytimes.com, etc.)?
Anyone else noticed a huge lag on sites that have video that is coming from Brightcove servers? This is a fairly recent occurrence for me.
I frequent Wired.com and NYTimes.com and have seen the initial loading of both of those pages come to a screeching halt when attempting to load the video data.
I thought perhaps it was the Flash player, but I have the latest and it doesn't happen with other video sources/players. I blocked the brightcove domains to see if that helps, e voila, instant loads.
Me: Mac Pro, 6GB RAM, on FF3
Anyone else notice this in the past 3 weeks or so?
