powerbook hard drive compatibility

I'm trying to figure out if this hard drive 320 GB 5400 RPM Western Digital ATA Hard Drive is compatible with my Powerbook G4 17".

no, it will not work. the interface is diffrent. newegg carries a 320gb IDE 2.5" drive which is what your looking for.

You need an ata-6 or ultra ata drive (the one with a lot of pins as the interface). They are a little hard to come by these days, especially in anything over 100GB. Good luck

If your looking to buy from ebuyer then you will have to choose from these drives: http://www.ebuyer.com:80/search?page...at=4&subcat=19. There is a 250GB drive, but its almost 20 pounds more then the SATA drive. Sad, I know.

many thanks guys. I wanted to go for a 320GB or higher but in this case i'll have to settle with a 250 GB one.
