An interesting number…
So OD2 with all the Windows users (well, WM9 users) in Europe and all of their 'storefronts' to exploit has only managed to achieve 1M downloads in three months.
In the same period, Apple achieved approximately 25-30 million downloads whilst targetting all of Win2K/WinXP/Jaguar/Panther users in the USA. And BuyMusic has been folded into Buy.com! And Rob Glaser keeps whining about iPod being opened to other stores. Sounds like WMA may not be succeeding in the marketplace, either as a format for legal downloads or as a player technology. Hmmm…  Sounds like someone should check with Paul Thurrott that this could possibly be true, and also find out why this means that Apple is dying. Last edited by MCCFR; Apr 1, 2004 at 03:12 PM. |
