I just got a new Mini. The Mini is running on an old Sony 19" LCD. I would like a 24" to take advantage of widescreen movies and TV programs. I don't game or need exact color replication. Suggestions for decent 24" monitors that won't exceed the $350 range?

I've been running a 17" Apple Studio LCD with the ADC port through an adapter. Its the tripod Apple LCD.
I want bigger, but rather than put my adapter to waste, I'm looking for a 23"

I have a Dell 2407WFP with my Mac Pro. It's very good, but pricey. I have my eye on a Dell S2409W 24". Comments on that monitor, or suggestions?
I use Dell E248WFP with my Mac mini and I am very satisfied. It is cheap and good value for money. I think it is the best for your case too.
I've just taken delivery of a Acer P223WD 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor. It look's great out of the box, stylish and a refreshing look to it compared to other monitors. I just need my mac mini delivery to hurry up now to see how good it's actually is turned on. The user reviews for this we're all nearly 5 out of 5, and there are many. I don't know how much you can get it for near you but I got it for £130 on offer. It's £170 most places, so thought it was a good deal 😀

Got a hpw20 myself(had it years) decent enough screen, hey do them in +22 inch now as well I think...decent price too
@ those mentioning 50" plasmas ...yeah like that is coming in under $350 like the original post asked for

Well, it is arriving today (so I am not actually using it quite yet) but I will be using the Acer X233Hbid 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor. It was $189.99 at buy.com. I was looking for a monitor that would be acceptable for both moderate gaming as well as video streaming. I think I found it. The only downside seems to be the 5/ms refresh rate as I was hoping for 2/ms for gaming.
On a related note, the next up contender for me was the Benq M2400HD. It was significantly more expensive at about $350 (as well as very hard to find) but the white color would have gone great with the Mini, etc.

I just bought a Mac Mini together with an Asus VH242H 24" monitor, and my experience couldn't be better.
I mainly use the Mac Mini to surf Internet and watch movies. 1080p content looks gorgeous!

In the original post he asked for suggestions under $350 but in the thread title he he asked "What monitor are you running with your Mac Mini?". I don't see anything wrong with people answering his question as he asked it. I am not suggesting it to him, just providing what he asked for.
I have a Samsung LN52A850 52" LCD TV that I will be using when my new 2.26GHz Mini arrives. Right now it is hooked up to the old 2GHz Mini.
Just because you are not able to afford "fancy bits" does not mean that others are not able to.
I have 2 of the S2209Ws hooked upto my Mac, its basically just the 22" version.
I find them great, they look nice, colours are vibrant and they (well at least the 22"s) run at 1920x1080 perfectly.
Only downside is you dont seem to get true whites and black, or really a true representation of colour (although the colours are very vibrant). So if your a video/image editor or graphic designer, look elsewhere, otherwise there a great screen for the money.
I'm running a 2.0ghz mac mini/4gb of ram/320gb hitachi travelstar 7200rpm 16mb cache hdd with a 24" LED ACD and it works perfect.

I'm a person who came from a 2.8ghz 8 core mac pro, 16gb of RAM, 150gb Raptor 10,000rpm drive and a 15" 2.53ghz unibody mbp.
And honestly the mac mini handles heavy multitasking just fine with even vmware fusion running and transferring 50gb+ files from my 1tb via fw800. I'm very impressed.
Oh, yeah - I obviously lie about what monitor I have, but for what reason??
The title is: "What monitor are you running with your Mac mini" and not: "What $350 monitor are you running with your Mac mini"

I must have read the title and then his request for a suggestion for a monitor around the 350$ mark and , well- fecked up, my apologies.
I jumped to conclusions about the monitor because we have had so many newbs flying through here lately,... spouting all kinds. ....so ye, there you go.

I thank all who have given me their responses. I'll be heading to the big box electronics store tomorrow to see most of them in action. My predicament started when I bought a new Samsung 240 before the Mini arrived. I plugged it into my new MacBook with mini display port to DVI adapter. The display looked like crap. It was as though I had turned on "mirroring" on the MacBook when I hadn't. Then I go to the Samsung website and it says that for the 240 monitor, a VGA connector is needed to a Mac. So, I'm thinking, my new Mini will come with a mini display port + a miniDVI, so I need to use the DVI adapter and not VGA. Back goes the Sammy monitor. Did anyone else run into a Samsung monitor problem with their Mac that required VGA only?

My friend's using my Samsung display I lent him. Model number in my signature. I got for roughly $300 at Costco.
