not complaining just wondering, is it normal for 17" 2008 mbp to have dim display?

i noticed people talking about how dim the new 17" mbp is vs the 15" i never really thought it was a big deal when i had mine. however know that im waiting for my 2.93Ghz 17" mbp to be built i've been using my mom's 2008 17" and noticed that the display is rather dim even with the brightness all the way up. does anyone else notice this?

Yeap, the 17" since the led backlighting has always been a couple notches dimmer than the 15" variant at the highest brightness level.

I bet it just has to do with the 17" screen being bigger than the 15".

Nope. Just you. Nobody else has said that the 17" screen seems dimmer. Weird, huh?
