My dads iPhone's wifi is connected to our
router (has 4 macs, iPod touch & iPhone connected)
The iphone is 3G has a sim and was unlocked from the network
That it was locked to.

It connects but doesn't have a great signal all the time...
When I go on to safari it just times out after about 30s -
And says "server did not respond"

My iPod touch works great..they are both up to date & new...
(bought 3 weeks ago)

Any idea's what's wrong?

Had a similar problem when I first got my iphone , found that the problem was with the router software and after upgrading that and all was well , suggest you try out a different wifi network to rule out a phone problem
