Error in Postfix, Permission Denied Mac Osx 10.5 Server

Hi, my server has recently started to play up on the postfix mail server side of things. I ramdomly started to get these error messages "Mar 12 21:40:51 -servername- postfix/showq[63913]: fatal: scan_dir_push: open directory maildrop: Permission denied
Mar 12 21:40:52 -servername- postfix/master[63914]: fatal: fifo_listen: remove public/pickup: Permission denied
Mar 12 21:41:02 -servername- postfix/master[63917]: fatal: fifo_listen: remove public/pickup: Permission denied"

I have no idea what is wrong with this server and i dont really want to revert to 10.4 or reinstall 10.5, im running a LDAP server, Web server, and using the smtp part to run a mail form on the website.
Thanks

1. Is postfix being started as root?
2. Check your main.cf file and locate all directories. Ensure there are proper permissions on those directories and that they exist.

You can do a:

ps -auxw | grep postfix

and ensure it has root in there.
