is there a way to restore a mac to factory settings?

is there a way to restore a mac to factory settings, what i mean is there a way to make it like when u bought t, only what it comes with and ilife?

Boot from the system disks, and perform an "Erase & Install."

You will lose all data, so have redundant backups.
