Since it's almost (MWNY-)rumor time again, how about this one:

In addition to the apple.com/switch-campaign, a whole new computer will be released at MWNY, called the yMac? (question mark included).

The goal of the operation is clear... to tell people "y" they should use a "Mac" ;-)

This is no rumor, it's just true!

k.

PS: With the yMac? released, we still have the aMac, oMac and uMac left. Anyone any suggestions?

That would be pretty funny! Why not xMac, gMac, or pMac. X for xtreme, g for gaming, and p for programming.

A little wihle back Crazyapplerumors.com did a joke article like this, where Apple filled out the entire alphabet. Surprisingly, they mentioned the "eMac" for education... before it was announced! There was the qMac for quilting, and the pMac wasn't for programming! Ah yes, everybody loves the Porn Mac!

I found a banner!

Hey! It's definately NOT a rumor! I've been lurking around a bit on the Apple Web servers, and I found THIS banner!!

Yeah, complete with "by MacFreggle", right? Sheesh... 🙄

Hah! I love it!!!

So it'd switch hit??

Both a cheap wintel system and a decent G4 based OS X system running effectively through a KVM-like mobo so you can complete the joke with (of course) " iMac, eMac and now ..... sometimes..... yMac"

What's Jeff Golblum's E-mail!?!

😀 😀 😀

Maybe my English isn't too well, but I don't understand a word of what you're saying here... 😀

Don't worry, I didn't get much of that either....

yeesh. hang on.

Okay:

The vowels are: a e i o u and sometimes (hint hint) y

The joke was a switch campaign machine called yMac.

The easiest switch hook is to provide a machine that does both operating systems because, of course OS X.2 would look really good with windows running right next to it.

I suppose just selling it with Virtual PC would work.

The idea with a machine that actually has 2 complete sets of innards that just shares the screen and input devices (the way a KVM switch works) called yMac (cuz it's sometimes a Mac) as bait for the switch struck me as particularly funny.

Sorry to be so Geek-Jargon centric about it.

It's okay, mischief, SOME of us got it. 😀

How's for a little lemon meringue in their direction? 😉
