Any chance we will be able use the Mic/Line In as Line out?

A lot of PCs have the ability to auto sense and adjust ports. I think it would be great to have 2 line outs occasionally on the Macbooks. It is probably something in software that Apple needs to create.

Who thinks this will be a good idea?

even if it were possible you would not be able to use any kind of surround sound by doing that. so i think you are better off with a minijack (Y) splitter.
