My internal monitor on my G3 Powerbook has had it. One of the ribbon cables is torn, so although I can barely see an image, it is not bright enough for me to read what's there and I don't have the installation sufficiently memorized to go through it "blindfolded". I have an external monitor but other than the initial startup apple logo, it switches back to the internal monitor. Is there anyway to change this behavior? If I could get the install to continue to use the external monitor, I would be golden.

run it with the lid closed, on boot it should not detect the builtin but detect the external only.
