Ok. So when people want to be added to a dev account, the dev asks the user for their UDID. The forums show that the UDID is a long set of numbers and stuff. How is this generated? When my neighbor wanted to test the iPhone 3.0 beta, in order to use it the dev needed to add his UDID. How do you find or know you unit's UDID.

To find your UDID:
Click on your iPhone's serial number in the summary tab in iTunes. A 40 digit code will appear, this is your UDID.

Thanks for your help. Also, if you click on the SW version, it shows the build number. This also works for the iPod touch, right?

There is a free application in the App Store that will collect your UDID and allow you to email it directly from your device.

Here is the linky.
