I loaded a CD-Rom with some pictures from our kids photo session and it never showed up on the desktop. Now I try to use the eject button and nothing happens. Is there a way to "Force eject" or some equivalent? Odd thing is that when I open iDVD it says that my computer is not equipped with a superdrive. So it sounds as though my drive is not working.

I thought I would come here before going to the Genius Bar. Any thoughts?

You can eject a disc from the drive by restarting the computer and holding down the trackpad button while the computer starts up. Press the trackpad button until the drive ejects the disc.

Does the computer see the drive in Apple System Profiler? If not, then it could be the drive has bitten the dust.
