iTunes Warning For Duplicate Music?

Will iTunes let you know that you already purchased a song, (so you don't buy duplicate music)? With all the music I am buying lately it is getting hard to keep track if I already bought it or not.
 
Great, thanks! I didn't want to try it if it didn't warn me and end up buying the same song again.

Well, it has warned me *sometimes*, but sometimes not. 🙁 It might fail to warn when I buy on one computer and then buy again from a different computer? (I am not sure about this--I just know that I have bought three or four duplicates--over a two year span--with no warning.)
 
Yes, always he same account. Like I said, I'm not sure why I didn't get a warning, I just know that in a few cases, I did not get one.
