Connect My Book to Mac Mini System 10.4.11?

I have succeeded at this in the past but no luck now. My MyBook is attached to my Mac Mini (10.4.11) but it doesn't announce itself on the desktop.

FYI, MyBook blue circle is lighted but not swirling.

Help?

FYI double posting doesn't really help you to get a faster response.. Anyway does it show up in devices? What happens if you leave it plugged in and reboot? Does it show up then?
