is there a setting to be able to open a file before it is saved. for example clicking on a torrent link file only gives you the option to save it. i would hope there is a way to bypass the save and let it open straight to the default torrent program or whatever you got set up as the default program. windows has that option.

i'm using firefox 3 and safari. same thing pretty much happens with both.

thanks

It has to be saved somewhere. Windows simply "cheats" by saving the file to a temporary files folder and then opening that directly.

You can set your app to look for torrent files automatically, and then auto delete the torrent file once the torrent started. Works fine in Transmission.
