I will definitely have my wife download the update. She depends on her PowerBook for work. There are times when she has a decreased signal. I also hope that this update will correct the problems.

Finally...

I was beginning to worry that Apple was going to leave us with v3.4.0 which caused serious issues when using P2P software. Whenever I'd boot Limewire, my connection would be terminated.

I will definitely be installing this as soon as I get home.
Good to hear signal strength is back up.

My 17" powerbook did not have any difficulties after 3.4, but after 3.4.1 there was only one difference I noticed--my airport extreme base now consistently has a stronger signal strength than the old linksys router. This has never been the case, not even with 3.4.

I've installed it on my 1GHz 12" PowerBook. No problems whatsoever. I did not download the original 3.4 update, so I never experienced any problems in the first place. My performance with this update is exactly as it was with AirPort 3.3.

Do you use any P2P software (eg. Limewire)? If so, does this update have any effect on your use of this software.
v3.4 caused major problems when using P2P software.

Waiting...

Welp, here we go again. I didn't end up downloading the first update that showed up last week, so I'm anxious to hear how this one ends up...so far one for one is good!

Learning quickly here not to be the guinea pig for everyone.

Pfeh. I'm abstaining myself from being the guinea pig for now. I guess its good that I left my iBook at home sleeping so I don't update right away. I had to downgrade from 3.4 to 3.3 after 3.4 wreaked havoc on my Samba file sharing. Will wait a day and see if this "fixes" whatever needs to be fixed.

Life is good

When I installed the 3.4 upgrade I lost 20% signal strength and also my printer sharing over our home network. I uninstalled 3.4 and managed to get back to good connectivity. I have just installed 3.4.1 and I am very pleased to say that my signal strength is back up to pre 3.4 levels though it does show a little fluctuation between 7 and 9 bars in the Internet connect control panel.
It seemed that after the rather poor showing of 3.4 that this would be a fix and I would say it's working well. I'm pleased they got on it quickly but remain a little confused as to why they would put out a bad upgrade in the first place.

I reported this update in the 3.4 topic.
The 3.4 update boosted my signal strength from 3-4 bars and about 65-70% to a solid 4 bars and 75-80% at about 50 feet from the base station.
The 3.4.1 update didn't change anything for me. Which is good, I guess.

I don't know, I don't use P2P programs. Perhaps someone else could field this one...

things happen...

Just like a lot of machines that Apple probably did a test install; it worked perfectly fine with my setup. People make simple errors unintentionally so don't feel too sacrosanct

I don't see much of a difference either. In class at school, I'd have 2-3 bars with 3.3. With 3.4, I'd get 0-2 bars. Now with 3.4.1, I get about 1-2 bars, with the occasionaly 0 bars/loss of signal. yes, it's temporary... but it's annoying when you're trying to watch a baseball game in class.... and it stalls the feed.

Hot dog! I went from 9 bars to 13! Didn't do 3.4, but all I can say is that 3.4.1 is working well for me.

More importantly, can I rip an AE card out of a G5 and stick it in my powerbook?

G5 = work's, no wireless network
PB = mine, and I want a free AE card...
