Look at the little box in the upper left hand corner of my screen. This appears when i push F9 to show all in expose. It only appears when fire fox is running. What is it and why is it there? How can I get rid of it. Does anyone know?

nope

it's a firefox glitch

always there.. immediately upon firefox launching.

I haven't messed with it much, so I don't know if it is related to popup blocking. but it's not all that serious anyhow.

more serious, imho is the inability to relaunch downloads, and the fact that you can't open new browser windows while the download manager is the only open window.

I believe you'll see it with any Mozilla-based application - the full suite, Firefox, Thunderbird, Camino. I've heard it called a hidden window but I don't know anything else about it.
