is it possible for canadians to download the free weekly songs posted in the ITMS? or is only for americans?

I tried registering with a Canadian address and there's no option. So, no, I guess not. I think it's just for people who can actually buy from the store, although I'd love to be proven wrong.

Nope. iTunes will just send you to the screen that says that the "iTunes Music store is not available in your country yet... blah, blah, blah...."
