iPod Any way of transferring songs from iPod onto computer?

Is there any way of transferring my songs from my iPod onto my computer without totally erasing all the songs?
The situation is: my PC that contained all my songs on my iPod pretty much died (I didn't rip my songs shamefully, being I didn't have a CD burner and pretty much procrastinated buying one) so now I have a big problem. I'm on a separate laptop so I was wondering if it is at all possible to transfer my music without loosing it all completely.

If you are looking to transfer purchased content, simply go to File and click transfer purchases from iPod.
