iPod touch Next update on iPod touch?

I saw from macrumors that the next update is coming soon, does anyone know when they'll release it? I'm planning to buy one, but don't know how long I'll have to wait.
 
They are going to release the new OS 3.0 probably next month at the WWDC. Most likely the iPod touch will receive an annual refresh will all the other iPods in September, after the back-to-school promotion ends.
