Apple Releases MobileMe Control Panel for Windows 1.4



Apple today released MobileMe Control Panel for Windows 1.4 (2.3 MB), bringing support for connections through proxy servers.

Required to set up and manage MobileMe syncing and manage iDisk settings on a Windows PC. This update provides support for connecting to MobileMe through various proxy servers.

I'm still not sure that this is going to help unless it will work with Exchange Server

And separate address books yet? With Exchange syncing you loose the ability to sync your own address book as it will only use the Contacts from Exchange.
On the other hand it can separate the Calenders.....

I wonder why this doesn't show up in Apple Software Update.

iTunes 8.2 needed

I just installed the new MobileMe Cpntrol Panel, and interestingly it tells me that iTunes 8.2 is required in order to use MobileMe. I find it surprising that anything in iTunes would be needed for this, unless iTunes has built in proxy control that the MobileMe Control Panel is taking advantage of.

I don't know why it's linked to iTunes, but now I see why the new MM control panel doesn't show up in Apple Software Update. It's included in iTunes 8.2 for Windows.

It hasn't been added yet. But in the meantime, why not use the Xmarks extension? It virtually does the same thing, and you get a number of syncing options, too.
