itunes question?

Which kind of music vibrate do u prefer?

lately i seen that itunes is converting my music to 256 kbps instead of 128 i seen that it makes my music files bigger like from 3.5 to almost 8 mb how can i make it back to 128 or i cant?
also which one do u guys prefer?
 
Change the settings in general>import settings. I personally use 192Kbps. It is a nice inbetween quality. 🙂

It really depends, if you're just using your iPod, there really is no point in having the bitrate so high. The file size is bigger and unless you have very expensive headphones that will allow you to hear the difference, there's no point.

I'm not saying there aren't any uses for a higher bitrate, but for the average listener it's not worth it.
 
Can you give us more choices for kbps? Just two? and people music still have a bitrate regardless of if they use iTunes.

You can very definitely heat the difference between 128 and 256 when I play my iPhone through my car stereo. And hey, some of my older collection is 64kbps! Mmm you can hear the compression 😀
 
I use 256 kbps bitrate for all my music now as I have my iPod connected to my Alpine receiver in my car most of the time. There is a noticable difference when playing the music through the receiver in my car.
 
If I'm doing the encoding myself, I'll do 320. But for torrents and what not I just use what ever is out there (anywhere from 128 to 320).

It depends on the music you're importing. If it's 'busier' (lots of instruments, loud, etc), the bitrate will increase. If it's quieter (more silent sections, softer sounds) the bitrate will decrease. Lossless audio is basically a direct copy of music off a CD. MP3 and AAC are 'lossy' formats, meaning the encoder deliberately cuts out certain frequencies in order to get the data around to several megabytes as opposed to 50MB+.
