I thought there was jailbreak tools realeased for 3.0 betas.
Not from the Dev team but thru others.

There are, but IMO the only software to trust is from the Dev Team. But people can choose to use what they want. 🙂 And who want's to jailbreak a beta that is going to expire? I think it would be a waste of time.

Well, there is a jailbreak, it's just not as reliable or official, but anyways, jailbreak isn't what I am asking, all I am asking is how do I access the root files in OS3. I see post on other forums, but people aren't replying. If they can't enter the root/system files , how are they enabling the battery percentage toggles. I have the files to enable the battery percentage, I just need to know how to access the iphone system.

Oh my goodness. Like we've said before. That's called JAILBREAKING.
Jailbreaking = making the root filesystem accessible.
You cannot see the rootfs without jailbreaking.
Got it?

the percentage indicators are left there from when they had their 1.x or 2.x phone jailbroken. upgrading to 3.0 left them there.

so to confrim this, I'm downgrade to 2.2.1, jailbreak and ssh it, then access the root, tweak my iphone, and then do a upgrade to 3.0 beta 5.

If your device is jailbroken like you say, then you should have no problem doing SSH right now, and just modifying the files.

this will work, but seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to get a percentage indicator. 😕

it's wirth it when u use ur iphone so much dat it always dies out right before your typing mms. Now I know to turn hurry up by 4 percent.
