Ichat spikes CPU

Okay this has been happening for sometime now and its driving me nuts, between safari v1.2.1 and ichat v2.1 they will just eat my cpu to 100%. most of the time its when they are both opened, but only one eats it up . Right now i have ichat opened and it says on my menu meter 100% i quite ichat and it drops to like 15% im in 10.3.3 power pc g4 733mhz , please help a few months back i think i read a post about his but couldnt find it. thanks
