Hey, I read these forums regularly but today I felt the need to register to find out what I can do about my Girlfriend's MacBook.
It's a early C2D 1.83 GHz model and recently it's started having issues charging. The problem is that when you plug it in the magsafe light stays green and the computer doesn't charge for a period of time (5-40 mins!) the time and occurrence of the problem is very intermittent.
My GF has apple care.
I've tryed the latest battery update, SMC, Pram, different power outlets etc and last week we took the machine into our local apple authorised repair place where they had it for over a week and said the battery passed their checks and in that time could only get the fault to reproduce once.
Im sat on the machine now (not literally) and its the first time we've had chance to use it since it was in for inspection and run the battery down and its again refused to charge for 10 mins (then it started)
There's no obvious pattern, you can plug it in at any %charge and it can happen.
battery is at 290 cycles which is pretty god for 2 years compared to some figures you see.
Just want to know if its a common fault as much googling has not found any results that are the same as this?
