I have a 2002 See-through blue iMac G3 600MHz and a 2.8GHz Hackintosh from the local dump running Leopard
![]() Also, the other day I was at the dump and I found the remains of a very old grey mac, if someone could identify it that would be great as I only have the mainboard, harddrive (250MB), connector cables and front button PCB.. The case was too wrecked to keep but it looked like an Macintosh TV.. I can't find any other model that matches the case design, but the specs don't match up.. I can draw a picture of what it looked like if that's needed ![]() The power and screen PCB was at the dump too but it looked too wrecked to be of any use.. I would really like to get this old thing going if that's possible, I LOVE old macs.

Just called up Apple's support line, I explained my iMac's problem and basically they are going to fix it free of charge! I was talking to the Supervisor on the repair help line and she was very helpful and nice.
Score! ![]() Quote:
![]() then it was a Performa, The Macintosh TV's were only black.

Alright... I've been truly 'collecting' Macs since about 1999, when I dug out my old PowerBook 5300c, and a friend gave me an SE/30. That brought back nostalgia from middle and high school, so I started collecting. Early on, I was just being given Macs by friends/family members who were getting rid of old ones (a family member was responsible for throwing away his company's old computers - he wasn't allowed to donate them to schools, but he could give them to me for some strange reason.)
Before I remodeled my basement, I had them lining one wall, an old web page detailing them available here.. Since the remodel, a large percentage of them are in storage; although I've been slowly digging them out and testing them. I have also started collecting other vintage computers, such as a NeXT and a couple IBM PowerPC "Personal Computers". My newer page is here. I am a member over at 68kMLA, and have a fairly detailed Wiki Page detailing my collection. The latest addition is an original "Macintosh". Whose serial number states that it was made in 1983. I can't find a single other reference to a 1983-manufactured original Macintosh, other than prototypes. (68kMLA thread on the find.) So I now have in my collection the first 680x0 Macintosh, (and a very early example of it, at that!) the first portable 680x0 Macintosh (although I have the backlit model,) the first 680x0 PowerBook (both a 100 and a 140,) the first PowerPC desktop (both a 6100/60 and a 7100/66,) the first PowerPC PowerBook (a few 5300s, including one of each model,) and the first Intel portable (ordered on day of release.) Now I just need to get an original Intel iMac.....

Along with the two Macs in my sig which are in use (dual 867 is a file server/OS 9 machine and the MacBook I use along my main custom built PC) I have these two other G4s, a powerbook G4 and a G3:
15" PowerBook G4 1.5GHz | 1GB RAM | 80GB HD | ATI 9700m | OS X 10.4.11 MDD Dual 1.25GHz G4 | 2GB RAM | 250GB HD | ATI 9000 64MB | OS X 10.4.11 Quicksilver Dual 800MHz G4 | 1.5GB RAM | 120GB HD | ATI 8500 64MB | OS 10.4.11 Yosemite Blue & White G3 350MHz | 512MB | 40GB HD | ATI 7000 32MB | OS 9.2.2 also have a 17"ADC display thats hooked up to the dual 867 and I have a first revision DVI apple display 20" that I use as a second display on my PC. Gave the PowerBook G4 to my mom a while ago, she still uses it daily. In the process of selling the dual 1.25 to a friend, don't really use it and it takes up room. Keeping the dual 800 and the G3 for pure nostalgia reasons (yeah im a nerd if you haven't already guessed).

Nice retro collection you have there - maybe you should try and obtain a iMac G3 or similar (they can often be gotten for free).

I have a working Apple IIgs. Has the 3.5" and 5.25" drives. Probably no working software though.
That's my only vintage Apple Computer. The rest consists of boring modern stuff...Mac Pro, Apple TV, 3GS, soon to be iPad. |
